A 1980s reunion: Atari, Ghostbusters and… Ray Parker Jr.?

Even as far as video game preview events go, the latest showing of Atari’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game certainly got off to a surreal start. Sitting comfortably in a swanky London hotel’s screening room, the gathered games writers were treated to the full-length music video of Ray Parker Jr’s Ghostbusters theme tune, which some of you may remember was quite the hit back in 1984.

Watching Mr. Parker Jr. chasing a scantily clad young lady around a house bedecked from ceiling to floor in neon tubing was quite the experience, particularly the scene where he slid from under the poor luvvie’s bed singing “bustin’ makes me feel good!” You just know they would never get away with such a thing these days.
