Together since the 80s, The Indigo Girls have staying power

The new album “Poseidon and the Bitter Bug” is a back-to-basics project for the Indigo Girls.  After making eight studio albums for Epic Records and one for Hollywood Records, Emily Saliers and Amy Ray issued “Poseidon” on their own IG Recordings label. They did so in association with Vanguard — the long-running folk imprint that was home to Joan Baez and Buffy Sainte-Marie in the 1960s.

Thanks to a devoted fan base, signature songs such as “Galileo” and “Get Out the Map” and a busy touring schedule — which will bring the duo to the Murat Egyptian Room tonight — the Indigo Girls are fine with life as independents.
